Cancer Education and Prevention

Educational programs and early detection opportunities are key services we provide as we seek to promote the overall health and well-being of the residents of Northwest Arkansas. Hope Cancer Resources provides programs to increase awareness of high-risk behaviors, early warning signs, symptoms, available treatments and support services.

Cancer Prevention Education
We have two health educators who provide free cancer prevention education to employers, schools, churches, businesses and civic organizations in Northwest Arkansas. Prevention education includes breast self-examination instruction, skin wellness, informational seminars on the basics of cancer and tobacco cessation. For more information or to set up a cancer education seminar, contact Casey Shelor, MS, CHES, CTTS at 479-361-5847 or email casey.shelor@hopecancerresources.org

Save-A-Life Cancer Screening Program
Our Save-A-Life program provides assistance for screening and diagnostic tests for breast, cervical, colorectal, prostate and skin cancers with a physician’s referral for the uninsured or under-insured; providing access to early detection, offering a better chance for a cure. We will process the application for assistance through the Save-A-Life program and guide patients through the health care system to help prevent and eliminate barriers to quality care and treatment. For more information, contact Christina Bostian at 479-361-5847 or christina.bostian@hopecancerresources.org
